Why Leigh Renewables?
Our Story
In my short time on this planet my purpose has come into focus - to maximize the positive impact that all my gifts can bring to my family, neighbors, community, country, and fellow humans at large. As such I operate this American business with pride. Sourcing only the highest quality materials the Sierra Mountains from material that otherwise pose a fire risk, or would have ended up in our carbon sink. All my products are also transported by American made electric vehicles, powered by solar panels and a battery at my workshop.
The products and services I offer are my attempts to keep people and their environment connected by bringing reminders of the ecosystems we live in into our everyday life. Starting with the youngest humans especially. Childrens toys can make a lasting impression. And if that toy is beautifully crafted, durable, and inspired by the natural materials it’s made of, what better way to impress upon the next generation the value of taking care of our things, being intentional with what kinds of products we consume, and businesses we support.
Staying connected to our environment throughout life is key in maintaining a focus on what’s most important. For those with more sophisticated tastes, I hope my products will spark joy anytime they are interacted with.
For the last 6 years I have dedicated my time and talents to work at companies like Tesla and Rivian in an effort to help lessen the impact of my love for road trips and travel. After building ~50 DCFC stations and becoming more deeply aware of the precarious nature of the world’s supply chains and energy markets, I feel it incumbent to run this business in the best way I know possible - ethically, sustainably, and self-sufficiently.
My work through the Leigh Labs Project is centered around training and teaching others how they can be self sufficient as well. For me and my life that's come through home ownership. And with the economy today building your own home can be more realistic than buying into the market.
All the lumber for these products are sourced from our property in North Fork, CA and made from material otherwise destined to be recycled into our carbon sink.
My tools are powered by humans or by electrons that Leigh Renewables harnessed from the sun.
With our packages, we are going to be looking for simple ways to recycle spent packaging. Please re-use it again if you have need or can find a use.
