Leigh Labs
Chip Leigh, a professional with extensive experience in building large-scale infrastructure for big companies, wants to give back to his community. He plans to build a sustainable and fireproof home on 9.5 acres of land in Madera County, a wildfire-prone area. The home will be energy-efficient, off-grid, and made from natural materials, making homeownership more attainable. The modular design will allow families to add onto them, and they will be easy to maintain.
As our next generation plans for their future, home ownership is increasingly out of reach. By making this process open source through support from our sponsors and patrons we're hoping to provide an example for kids to learn how to motivate themselves with achievement based intrinsic motivators. This project also aims to encourage kids to see solutions where others see obstacles by being an example of hard work. Supporters will help cover the material costs and instructional information curation needed to replicate this project.
